Athabasca University’s Academic Research Centre – Athabasca, Alberta

2023

“The ARC building at Athabasca University was designed to celebrate the region’s timber-based economy, the team used wood extensively to achieve sustainability targets and a stunning architectural aesthetic. Built in 2010, the new building combines energy-efficient building technologies with leading-edge networking and communications technologies to facilitate online and distance learning.” (Booklet Positive Lived Experiences of Quality in the Built Environment 2023, p.63).
