Parc Père-Marquette – Montréal, Qc

My positive experience took place in my neighborhood park, Père-Marquette Park. It’s a fairly large park, yet still feels intimate. You find everything there: young families gathering for children’s parties, young adults playing spikeball (the sport of choice in Montreal summers), and seniors enjoying the sunshine. I especially appreciate the fact that there are areas dedicated to certain activities and that there is enough space so you don’t have to worry about noise. There are also two kiosks in the two sections of the park, separated by Rosemont Boulevard, where you can rent balls, skateboards, scooters, and more.

There is so much greenery in Père-Marquette Park that you can see bats at dusk. I also like the hill near the skate park, as it offers a beautiful view of the sunset. In fact, some areas of vegetation have been fenced off to protect them from pedestrians and enhance greenhouse gas capture. Parks serve as cooling areas during our increasingly hot summers, especially for most of us who don’t have a pool in our backyard.
