Regent Park Area – Toronto

“I particularly remember visiting…

I live in downtown Toronto, and one of my most positive experiences is witnessing the positive changes in Regent Park Area. Regent Park revitalization plan ( being executed in 5 phases), has been slowly transforming the neighbourhood to a vibrant community that addresses the need of different community members, especially many newcomers and immigrants who choose the area for its location and affordability.

The revitalization has happened after years of consultation with various stakeholders, and the result of that has been special attention to building many public community spaces, including and aquatic centre, athletic centre, libraries, art spaces, literacy centre, modern parks and community spaces that are free or low cost for members to gather and enjoy.” (Booklet Positive Lived Experiences of Quality in the Built Environment 2024, p.87).
