The initiative led by Université Laval emphasizes the critical barriers to understanding and implementing quality in urban development. The roadmap begins by identifying these barriers, including definitions of quality. In the second stage, the roadmap explores how different stakeholders, including users, designers, and policymakers, perceive quality within the context of urban development. This phase involves gathering and synthesizing diverse views to develop a more comprehensive understanding of quality in the built environment. The roadmap also focused on developing nuanced, composite principles to address the complex and often conflicting views of quality identified earlier.
In the subsequent phases, the focus will be on formulating intricate quality principles encompassing the diverse perspectives gathered during the initial stages. These principles will ensure their feasibility and applicability to specific projects. Furthermore, there will be an emphasis on tracking the evolution of these quality principles and integrating geospatial data to unveil comprehensive patterns and insights.
