Announcement of the new program for the Canada Research Chair in ARCHITECTURE, COMPETITIONS, AND (INCLUSIVE) QUALITY (CRC-ACQUA).

Our second seven-year term (2026–2033) focuses on theories, methods, training, and quality policies, with an emphasis on issues of inclusion and universal accessibility in architecture.

These social and cultural challenges call for interdisciplinary and international collaborations to advance collaborative research and doctoral studies in four key areas:

  • Axis 1 (Theoretical) – Rethinking the social value of public environments through the lens of inclusive quality
  • Axis 2 (Methodological) – Integrating lived experience into planning, design, and post-occupancy evaluation processes
  • Axis 3 (Educational) – Contribute to raising awareness of the issues and practices related to inclusive quality and accessibility in general, vocational, and advanced education
  • Axis 4 (Policy) – Establish a critical international benchmark for awards of excellence in the built environment

ArchiQualiData : Our digital platform, funded by the Canadian Innovation Foundation, is freely accessible. By combining price mapping, real-life experiences, and case studies, it serves as the cornerstone of our knowledge mobilization and dissemination efforts.
