Re-Visioning Quality through Kinship – Detailed program for the Winnipeg Convention 2026

We are pleased to announce that the detailed program for the 2026 Winnipeg Convention of the Quality in Canada’s Built Environment (QBE) research partnership is now available.

Taking place from May 28 to May 30, 2026 at the University of Manitoba, this 5th annual convention brings together partners, researchers, professionals, students, and community representatives from across Canada to advance shared work on equity, social value, and sustainability in the built environment.

Under the theme “Re-Visioning Quality through Kinship”, this year’s event will focus on:

  • Engaging with Indigenous knowledges and the Two-Eyed Seeing approach
  • Listening to and learning from the next generation of students and practitioners
  • Sharing the first drafts of books, toolkits, and action plans emerging from our collaborative research

Over three days, participants will take part in:

  • Plenary sessions and keynote discussions
  • Collaborative sessions to refine the first draft of the 6 books on quality
  • Workshops and land-based learning experiences

This milestone marks an important step in the partnership’s work, as we move forward in the last year of the partnership with the aim to foster more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable built environments across Canada.
